I know marketing on social networks is the up and coming trend, but I cannot see Facebook specializing in business marketing as Twitter or LinkedIn has. Facebook, I believe, is predominantly leisure and social in nature, with the possibility of establishing professional relationships on the back burner. Status updates will only work if you already have a relevant audience related to your products or services, which may be difficult to attain on Facebook. I think it may have potential for business sectors only if someone figures out how to organize Facebook towards a marketing perspective. Until then, members are connecting for the sole purpose of interaction and fun.
