If the top 25 percent of income earners pay 97 percent of the taxes, shouldn’t they get something in return?
Perhaps the taxPAYERS could dictate to those who pay no taxes that they are allowed to only have one child. Or that they aren’t allowed to vote until they make at least $50000 a year. Doesn’t it seem fair that we should "spread the responsibilities" like we "spread the wealth"?
I think the government should tax enough to pay its bills. I think if it did that, we would elect people who would limit the role of government. Why not spend spend spend if no one has to pay for it?

They get a lot in return. First is our top-notch military to protect their property. Then there’s access to our market which has made them rich. There are police, fire depts., road and bridge maintenance, water treatment, on and on.
But the main thing they get is security (national defense.) I mean, come on, the top 25 % of income earners don’t die for their country or serve in the military.
